We at Clevry are looking for a Data Science / Analytics Trainee for our client Nokia Technologies. The position that we are looking to fill is a part to full-time position with the minimum expectation of 40% per week and 12 months fixed-term employment, starting as soon as possible.
Patent Analytics team is a key function in Nokia Technology which is responsible for providing and further developing analytics to support the management of our world-leading patent portfolio.
As a Data Science / Analytics Trainee you will be involved in building a forecasting model - an advanced tool that will allow getting maximum value out of the existing data, monitor patent evolution in the long term, and plan resources in a more efficient way.
We are interested in candidates at the end of Master’s studies in data science, math, econometrics or another related field. The candidate is expected to have proficiency with Python programming and have experience with statistical analysis methods as well as good knowledge of probability theory and distribution. Familiarity with AI-/Machine learning methods is considered as a benefit. Further, we see that the strong initiative, analytical skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions are highly appreciated.

Nokia Technologies is focused on licensing valuable Nokia intellectual property, especially patents, technologies and the Nokia brand. Building on decades of innovation and R&D leadership in technologies used in virtually all mobile devices used today, Nokia Technologies is expanding its patent licensing business, reintroducing the Nokia brand to consumers through brand licensing, and developing and licensing innovative technologies.
The main responsibilities are
- perform statistical analysis and derive insights from multi-layered data
- building predictive probabilistic models
This is what we are looking for
- Current master’s student in data science, math, econometrics or another related field
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts:
- regression models (multiple regressions, multivariate analysis), properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage) and experience with applications, timeseries forecasting
- probability theory and statistical distribution (e.g. fitting distribution parameters based on real data, Bayesian learning)
- Proficiency with Python programming language (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, sklearn), data wrangling
- Ability to design data visualization dashboards using Python or tools such as PowerBI
- Fluency in both oral and written English
- Strong initiative, analytical skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions
